1. Payment
1.1 Types of Payment
All payments will be processed in Australian dollars. Please note, we do not accept cash for rental payment or for the rental bond.
We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express credit and debit cards. The use of Visa and MasterCard credit cards will incur a 1.75% surcharge. Debit cards do not incur a surcharge. International credit cards may also attract an International Transaction Fee from your financial institution relative to current exchange rates. International Transactions can also be affected by daily exchange rates fluctuations, which is outside of our control.
1.2 Booking Deposit
If you have made a rental car booking via phone or on our website, the name and credit card details provided must be in your name as the renter (driver). Please ensure that you provide a valid credit or debit card and drivers licence in your name at time of collecting the vehicle. If a credit card is unable to be in the drivers name, the paying card holder must present their valid Drivers Licence, Passport or other form of photo ID.
1.3 Pay on Arrival Bookings
On collection of your rental vehicle, payment is required in full. This will include your car rental rate and any other services or options agreed to at the time. Please ensure that you provide a valid credit or debit card in your name at time of collecting the vehicle.
2. Cancellations and Refunds
2.1 Prepaid Booking Deposit Refunds
When booking directly with Right Price Car Rentals via phone and or on our website, you also accept the cancellation and refund terms of the booking, and the following associated fees:
3. Holding Deposit
At the time of collection of your rental vehicle, we will require a Holding Deposit to process your rental. The holding (Security) deposit will be processed on your debit or credit card. Unless otherwise required by Right Price Car Rentals, in the sum of $2,000.00 Australian Dollars. Upon safe and acceptable return of the vehicle and your compliance of these Terms and Conditions, Right Price Car Rentals will refund the holding deposit within 2 business days. Please note, depending on your financial institution, refund times can vary up to 14 business days for the funds to appear back into your account.
4. Liability Coverage
You are personally liable for all loss and damage to the vehicle, consequential third party damage where you are in breach of these terms and conditions or in the event the loss and damage is not covered by Right Price Car Rental’s insurer.
We recommend the following options to reduce your financial risk in the event of loss or damage to the rental vehicle:
4.1 Excess Reduction Cover [ERC]
Provided you are not in breach of these terms and the vehicle is covered by our insurer, our Excess Reduction Cover reduces your excess down to $350, in the event of loss and damage caused to the rental vehicle, this does not include windscreen, tyre protection or wheels.
4.2 Standard Excess Cover [SEC]
Provided you are not in breach of these terms and the vehicle is covered by our insurer, our Standard Excess Cover allows you to pay a maximum excess of $2,000.
For guaranteed peace of mind, we recommend you select Excess Reduction Cover (ERC) at the time of your booking or at our retail branch on collection of your rental vehicle.
4.3 Windscreen, Tyre Protection and Wheels
Purchasing this cover will protect you from financial risk in the event there is damage to the windscreen and tyres of your rental vehicle. Please note the following definitions and conditions apply to this coverage:

4.4 Premium Roadside Assistance
Our Premium Roadside Assistance Package can be purchased at the collection of the rental vehicle and protects you in the event something unexpected happens. While our Standard Roadside Service covers you for mechanical failure, this option will protect you when you just need a helping hand to get you on your way. We engage the Royal Automobile Club of Queensland (“RACQ”) to cover you for:

Whilst all our vehicles have unlimited kilometres, if you are outside of a 200km radius from the nearest RACQ depot, you are responsible for any extra charges for towing and or call outs.
In the event of any failures in the vehicle, Right Price Car Rentals is not responsible for any loss or expenses incurred by you as a result of or incidental to the vehicle failure. This includes, but is not limited to, accommodation costs, travel expenses, loss of income/profits, loss of enjoyment or opportunity or indirect or consequential loss. Further Right Price Car Rentals is not responsible for your own property left in the vehicle or damaged during your rental.

You acknowledge and agree that your use of the rental vehicle is for recreational purposes only and the vehicle is not to be used for commercial or business use.
4.5 Standard Roadside Assistance
All our vehicles come with Standard Roadside Assistance in the event of something unexpected happens. Our Standard Roadside Assistance costs between $100 to $1,500 depending on the roadside assistance call out type and includes:

5. Warning lights, accident, loss or damage
5.1 Warning lights
In the event a warning light is displayed on the vehicle, or you notice a fault in the vehicle, you must report it to us as soon as possible and act reasonably in relation to the warnings or faults such as, but not limited to, attending to the warnings or faults where possible immediately and discontinue driving the vehicle if appropriate. For any roadside assistance and to report any warning displays, you must call our office as soon as possible on (07) 4032 1064. If the rental vehicle is unable to be driven, we will arrange for it to be returned to us and if an equivalent replacement vehicle is available, we will provide it to you, at our discretion, provided always you acted reasonably in relation to the warning lights or vehicle faults.
Please note, we are unable to guarantee that we can provide you with a replacement vehicle upon the failure of your rental vehicle as this is subject to availability. If we consider you are eligible for a replacement vehicle and we are unable to provide you with a replacement vehicle, we will refund you the rental charges for any whole days for which you were unable to drive the rental vehicle.
5.2 Incidents, damage and theft
You must notify us and the police immediately if there is an incident where a person is injured, the other party involved in the incident failed to stop or exchange details, the vehicle is towed, or any driver involved in the incident appears to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
If the vehicle is stolen you must immediately notify the police, then us. If the vehicle is damaged, you must notify us. In addition, you must notify the police if a third party has caused the damage.
6. Driver Requirements
6.1 Only Hirer must drive the vehicle
Only the person listed as the Hirer in the Rental Agreement may drive the rental vehicle and any additional driver must be approved by Right Price Car Rentals at the time of collection of the rental vehicle. The Additional Authorised Driver must provide their name, licence and signature in the Rental Agreement to be authorised to drive the rental vehicle.
6.2 Age Restrictions
It is a requirement that you present a current, valid driver licence on collection of the rental vehicle and a copy of your licence will be recorded for verification purposes. Age restrictions apply and you and anyone else wanting to drive the vehicle must be between 21 – 80 years of age.
Please note, each driver of the rental vehicle must be listed on the Rental Agreement at the time of collection of the vehicle.
Due to insurance conditions, an additional surcharge and certain restrictions will apply to those drivers aged between 21 to 24 years of age, and drivers 76 to 80 years of age.
6.3 International Drivers
An International Driver Licence [IDL] is only accepted as a valid driver licence if it is recorded in the Roman Alphabet (e.g. A, B, C etc.). If your International Driver Licence is not recorded in the Roman Alphabet, we will also require an International Driving Permit [IDP] as supporting documentation. We may also ask for your passport to verify your IDL and/or IDP, or for identification purposes, and a copy will be kept for our records.
International drivers from China are also required to provide an International Driver Licence, but may use a China National Certificate [CNC] instead of an IDP as supporting documentation along with their national Chinese driver licence.
6.4 Provisional Drivers
Due to insurance policy restrictions, drivers holding any Provisional Licence (P-plate) can NOT rent from Right Price Car Rentals.
All drivers must have an Open Drivers Licence.
6.5 Learner Drivers
Drivers holding a Learner Licence are not permitted to rent or drive vehicles with Right Price Car Rentals. Rental vehicles are not permitted to be used for the purpose of a driving test.
6.6 Additional Drivers
Adding additional drivers to your booking will incur a one-off charge per driver for each rental booking. Please enquire at the time of collection of your vehicle.
7. Driving Restrictions
7.1 Restricted Areas
Not all parts of Australia are suitable terrain for a rental vehicle and for your own personal safety, and to reduce liability of damage to the vehicle, we enforce strict conditions that limit use. You cannot take a rental vehicle;
Please note, any vehicle towing, or recovery costs incurred while located on any of the islands and locations listed above will be at your expense and we are unable to guarantee the provision of a replacement vehicle.
7.2 Prohibited Areas

8. 24-hour Roadside Assistance (Mechanical Breakdown)
24-hour roadside assistance is available to all Right Price Car Rental vehicles in the event of a breakdown due to mechanical failure (excluding vehicles involved in an accident).

9. Additional Equipment
Right Price Car Rentals understands embarking on a road trip can involve some vital equipment. That is why we have taken great care in selecting the safest and most convenient options available for our Customers.
9.1 Standard Infant Seat* (newborn to 3 years)
Suitable for newborns and children up to 18 kilograms and can be installed forward or rear facing.
9.2 Harness Booster Seat* (Four point belt)
A harness booster seat is designed for children above 18 kilograms or that are too large for a standard infant seat. This seat can only be installed forward facing.
9.3 Booster Seat*
A Booster Seat is designed to raise the child so that the lap-shoulder belt of the vehicle is correctly and safely positioned. The Booster Seat is suitable for children aged from three (3) years-old up to seven (7) years-old.
*IMPORTANT: Child Seats
It is your responsibility to ensure the appropriate child seat or seats are selected and fitted for children travelling in the rental vehicle. Right Price Car Rentals takes no responsibility for fines, injury or death, or any other loss associated with failure to have a child seat properly fitted in the vehicle or failure to safely restrain children in the rental vehicle. Right Price Car Rentals takes no responsibility for the proper installation and/or adjustment of child seat restraints.
It is your responsibility to comply with all mandated seatbelt and child seat restraint laws applicable to every State or Territory in Australia. Police infringements may be issued to the driver of the vehicle for any unrestrained occupants, including incorrectly fitted and adjusted child restraints.
10. Fines, Infringements and tolls
10.1 Fines and Infringements
You are liable for and must pay all fines and infringements incurred during the period of rental of the rental vehicle. This includes but is not limited to, speeding and traffic fines, parking infringements and other penalties relating to the use of the rental vehicle. If any fines are not paid for before prior to the return of the vehicle, we can raise an additional bill and charge to credit card. This will incur an administration fee of $88.00
10.2 Tolls
You are responsible for and must pay all toll fees incurred during the period of rental of the rental vehicle.
11. Animals in Vehicles
We do not allow domestic pets to ride in our vehicles, but do allow registered assistance animals. Although we do not charge an extra fee for registered assistance animals, you will incur an additional charge for any damage caused by animals, or any special cleaning required as a result of shedding or accidents. Transport of animals within the vehicle and the use of an appropriate restraint, container or crate is entirely your responsibility. Please be aware that government regulations also apply.
12. Refueling Charges
All rental vehicles must be returned with a full tank of fuel with the fuel gauge displaying full. A refuelling service fee of $44.00 (plus price of fuel) will apply to those vehicles returned to base with less than a full tank of fuel.
Right Price Car Rentals is committed to ensuring our rental vehicles are equipped with a full tank of fuel on collection. Due to operational requirements however, there may be certain cases in which we are unable to provide this. In these instances, it is the requirement of Right Price Car Rentals that you return the vehicle with the equal amount of fuel as recorded on the Rental Agreement at the time of collection of the vehicle.
13. Return of Vehicle
You must return the vehicle to our office located at 436 Sheridan Street, Cairn North. If the vehicle can’t be returned to this location for any reason, the vehicle recovery costs will be charged to you. This includes, but is not limited to, replacement of lost or stolen vehicle keys, tow truck recovery costs and any other incurred charges.
We reserve the right to check the vehicle for any damages for a period up to two business days after you return the vehicle. We will retain a pre-authorisation hold on your credit card for up to two business days after your return of the vehicle. We will notify you if we observe any damage to the vehicle and we will deduct the costs for repairing the damage from your credit card up to the value of $2,000.00 (or to the value of $350.00 if you have purchased ERC).
14. Force Majeure
In no event shall Right Price Car Rentals be responsible or liable for any failure or delay in the performance of its obligations hereunder arising out of or caused by, directly or indirectly, forces beyond its control, including, but not limited to, epidemics, pandemics, infectious diseases, government action, national emergency, strikes, work stoppages, accidents, acts of war or terrorism, civil or military disturbances, nuclear or natural catastrophes or acts of God, it being understood that Right Price Car Rentals will use reasonable efforts which are consistent with accepted practices in the industry to resume performance as soon as practicable under the circumstances.
